On Mon, Sept 13, the Executive Committee and the Church Board accepted the recommendation of the Pastoral Search Committee and scheduled Sun, Oct 10 for Calling of Pastor during worship.
The Executive Committee and Board’s actions follow the July 31, unanimous vote of the Pastoral Search Committee to recommend to the Executive Committee the employment of a candidate as the Executive Pastor of Administration and Planning. Many thanks to the hard work and dedication of the members of the Pastoral Search Committee: Carroll L Kreider, Chair, Jeff Eberhart-Bingeman, John David Bowman, Nancy Hivner, Amy Karr and Trisha Sollenberger.
We will host a “Get to Know the Candidate” hour in the sanctuary on Sun, Oct 10 from 9–10 am. The candidate will then preach during service and a vote will follow immediately after the service. The vote will be in-person with paper ballots; however, we will also provide a virtual option for those who cannot attend in-person. Please note that given the nature of a pastoral search process and the confidentiality that accompanies it, the service on Oct 10 will not be live streamed; it will be broadcast later that week.
