Building Project

Updated: Jul 12, 2021

by Nancy Hivner, Board Chair

As our capital campaign continues, the Church Board is preparing to recommend next steps in our building project. We appreciate the work of our campaign team and are encouraged by the financial commitments being made by our members and friends.

The campaign is scheduled to end Wednesday, May 15, when the total amount of commitments will be known. Because we expect that commitments will not cover the entire cost of the proposed project, the board asked the Finance Committee to consider the possible use of invested funds and/or a commercial loan to enable us to undertake the project. The committee is researching facts about these alternatives. The Board will learn more about their work in April.

We also plan to re-engage the building committee to review project cost estimates and prepare alternatives for investing in our building in ways that will best suit our ministry needs. Their work will become more specific once our financial picture is more clear.

It is an exciting time in the life of our congregation. Dynamic ministry programs and projects involve many people. New members enrich our congregational life together and help to clarify our vision for the future. Our pastors challenge us to grow spiritually and enrich our lives of faith. Our building project will demonstrate our commitment to invest in our ministry.

The board and related committees have a great deal of work to do before we are ready to present a recommendation on next steps. Your prayerful and financial support for our work is deeply appreciated. Thank you.
