About the event
The recent sermon series on the holy spirit prompted the Women’s Bible Study to choose as their fall study the thematic topic of the divine spirit in the Hebrew Scriptures. We want to find out the background to the New Testament’s understanding of the holy spirit. In the Old Testament, God’s spirit is present with people to guide, empower, and support them. God's spirit is active in creation and is tied to the promise of new life. The divine spirit empowers prophets to speak and act as God’s messengers. Bible study passages will come from Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah, Joel, Micah, Haggai, and Psalms.
All women are welcome to join us for our 2024 Fall session, "God's Spirit, Part 1," with Chris Bucher.
