Blessing of the Animals

October 4th is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Known as the patron saint of animals and the environment, this date (or days surrounding it) are often observed as an opportunity to remember the gifts of animals in our lives and to bless them. Although we don’t typically recognize saints of the Church, we do celebrate the ways animals touch our lives. You are invited to bring pets (or pictures of pets) for outdoor blessing of the animals service at the church on October 4th at 1:30 pm. This simple and short service is an opportunity to acknowledge how we are called to be stewards of God’s creation and the mutual care we give and receive.  Please be sure to have animals on leashes or otherwise contained. Please contact Pastor Liz with any questions.
