About the event
Adult Faith Formation Opportunities!
Discovery Class–During 2023, our church became a member congregation of Pennsylvania Interfaith Power and Light (PA IPL). PA IPL’s mission is to inspire and mobilize people of faith and conscience to take bold and just action on climate change. Through environmental education, sustained advocacy, creation care, and direct actions PA IPL strives to promote stewardship, creation care, and the use of clean, renewable energy. They have sponsored many tree-planting initiatives, education programs on religion and environment, and advocate for environmental issues at the local, state and national level. We were privileged to have Katie Ruth, Executive Director, speak to us about the work of PA IPL in a faith formation class during April of 2023. We are delighted to have them back on January 14 to talk about a new PA IPL initiative, watersheds. We live in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, meaning all of the water in our lakes, streams, creeks, and rivers ends up in the Chesapeake Bay. While the overall health of the bay has been improving over the past few years thanks to many agricultural reforms, we can all do more to protect our watershed. Please join us on January 14 during the Faith Formation hour. (Room 102 & Zoom) Discovery Class Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/822361992
Bible Explorations–This new intergenerational adult class will focus upon questions such as: Do you want to know more about the Bible? If so, what about the Bible would you like to learn? The first several sessions will center upon an overview of the contents of the Bible as well as an overview of the time periods in which the Bible was written. This class will be taught by retired Pastor and scholar Dave Leiter. (Room 106)
Young Adult Class–Discussion group geared towards post high school, those who are working, college age students at Etown College or elsewhere, 20 year olds post college, etc. (Parlor)
Chalkboard Chat–This is an unstructured class to meet in for conversation. Each week prompts will appear on the Chalkboard that can be used to inspire dialogue. (Room 110)
Sip N’ Chat–Located in Memorial Lobby this time will offer an informal space for those just looking to gather with some coffee and conversation during the Faith Formation Hour.
