Discovery Class–Week three of the pre-recorded four part video presentation of Jesus in Galilee will focus on Tradition & Traction. We will be delving into how the biblical vision of distributive justice got socio-political traction from Antipas' lake enclosure. The objective of this week's class is to discover how historical circumstances gave ancient prophetic traditions urgent new relevance, we'll be doing this by examining the economic and social impact of Antipas' commercialization of the lake, Israel's deep biblical tradition of distributive justice and how imperial policy inadvertently created the conditions for Jesus' message to resonate—then and now.
