I imagine many of us are familiar with the superior abilities listed in these verses: “renew their strength . . . mount up with wings like eagles . . . run and not be weary . . . walk and not faint.” Isn’t there a song?
What spoke to my heart today was to whom these extraordinary abilities apply. As explained in the first part of verse 31, those gifts are for “those who wait for the Lord.”

The passage resonates for me because I can vividly recall how it sounded and made me feel when my dad spoke those words from the pulpit. The God we are trying to figure out far exceeds my powers of comprehension. Jesus makes God seem real to me, and loving people like my late father make Jesus seem real.
This is one of my favorite portions of scripture. I especially appreciate the way it has been set to music. This is just one example
