The devotional author uses several words and phrases in reference to rest and its importance: slowing down, being present, focus, stillness, quiet, crucial to our well-being, nurture our bodies, feed our minds, restore our souls, quiet spaces, stillness, calm. All of those terms seem to run counter to our culture.
How can we incorporate those elements into our everyday lives?
As an older person, I find I often need to take a nap sometime in the afternoon. And, thankfully, now I have the time to do so. It always amazes me how fresh and focused I feel afterwards and how restored I then feel to go on with energy for my daily routine.
