We are not meant to remain as children at the mercy of every chance wind of teaching...but we are meant to speak the truth in love, and to grow up in every way into Christ, the head.

Ephesians 4:14-15

Our Adult Sunday Morning Faith Formation classes provide a variety of options with different styles, topics and age ranges to meet the varied needs of our Congregation.

  • 20/30 Somethings - (106) - This is our newest Adult Sunday School class created for young adults in their 20’s-30’s. Each week there are opportunities to share with one another as well as discuss current event topics or engage in curriculum studies. This class has individuals at a variety of stages in life, recent graduates, singles, newlyweds and those married with young children.

  • Intersections Class - (Room 110) - Sip 'n Chat

  • New Discoveries Class - (Room 102) - Open to adults of all ages, the New Discoveries Class engages participants in progressive Biblical interpretation and how it affects decisions and actions in daily life. Thoughtful and challenging discussions are facilitated by members, pastors or special guests.

  • Mustard Seeds - (Room 101) - Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed in (Matthew 13, Mark 4, Luke 13) that grows quickly into a small tree. The parable illustrates the power of tiny ideas, beliefs and acts that grow into large and significant endeavors. This class will explore many topics to help inspire those to grow in their beliefs. All ages are welcome. Led by Don Kraybill. Click here for a current class schedule.

  • Good Shepherd Class - (Pastor Pam's Study) - This class uses a discussion format to study from A Guide for Biblical Studies, the Church of the Brethren quarterly that follows the International Sunday School lesson series. This class also shares the needs of class members and the congregation, and devotes time to prayer for these needs and blessings. This class has the oldest history in our congregation, as it started at the Washington Street church more than 60 years ago.

  • Fifth Sunday Forum - In months with five Sundays, all adult Sunday School groups are invited to meet together on the fifth Sunday for a special forum topic. Guest speakers are often invited.

  • Inquirers' Classes are held periodically to provide interested persons with an introduction to the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren congregation, Brethren heritage and beliefs, and our ministries and outreach efforts. These classes are led by our pastors and are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Inquirers' classes are for adults and youth older than 6th grade who are new to the congregation, have decided they want to become a member, or have not decided they want to become a member, but have questions and want to learn more.

  • Special Elective Classes each year we suspend our regular Sunday School classes and  dedicate a few weeks for special elective options. These classes provide an opportunity for exciting topics, themes and speakers as well as a chance to mix up our regular Sunday School classes.
