This year marked the return of the Run/Walk for Peace, and the 21st year that the run has been held. By participating in these events, runners and walkers made a personal and positive statement for peace.
This years beneficiaries:
Samara: The Center for Individual and Family Growth www.samarafamily.org
Samara empowers parents and children to free themselves from the trauma of abuse and neglect by creating generational cycles of health and success.
Global Food Crisis Fund www.brethren.org/gfcf
The Global Food Crisis Fund is the primary way the Church of the Brethren assists hungry people in developing food security. For over 25 years, the Fund has provided for seeds, livestock, tools, and training directed to helping the poor develop sustainable agriculture.
Race Results
First place winners received hand-carved figurines imported by SERRV handcrafts, a non-profit program promoting social and economic progress in developing regions of the world. These unique awards bring dignity and needed income to third-world artisans. www.serrv.org
