Food, Kids Activities, Face Painting, Sneaker Recycling, and more...
A local tradition since 1982, the Run-Walk for Peace is an event of the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren Recreation Commission that supports local and global efforts to promote peace. The race starts with the release of white doves and winners are awarded unique fair trade items. Following the race, there will be kids' activities, face painting, sneaker recycling and more. In addition, there will be a bread and soup lunch.
The start and finish of the race will be at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren (777 South Mount Joy Street). Parking will be available in the church lot, as well as on-street parking on Cedar and Mount Joy Streets. This course has been measured with a calibrated surveying wheel and the race is professionaly timed by PARunners (www.PArunners.com).
Last year's beneficiary was Community Action Program of Lancaster County’s Domestic Violence Services (DVS) program. DVS provides empowerment, education, and advocacy to victims, survivors, families and communities to end abusive relationships.
